Every wedding is different and custom tailored to the couple and their story, so why shouldn’t your bridal gown be the same? Every bride has her own unique style and personality and I believe her gown should be a reflection of that.
Choosing to have a custom gown made is a big decision and is not right for every bride. It takes a lot of trust in the creative process as well as open-mindedness to watch your gown come to life. If you have a vision for a gown that is a little less traditional, are having a hard time finding the perfect gown in stores, or just want something that will truly be one of a kind, a custom gown might be for you. Over the past eight years while working directly with brides, I noticed many women being disappointed with the mass-produced cookie cutter gowns and felt the need to offer something different and completely one-of-a-kind. You can choose to customize a gown from my collection or have something made completely from scratch. Read on for frequently asked questions about a custom gown.
How long does it take to make a custom gown?
The timeframe does vary depending on availability, amount of detail, and your wedding date. The process typically takes 6-8 months from the day we first meet to discuss style to your final fitting and gown pick up. Having a shorter engagement but still thinking custom? Feel free to contact me and see if we can make some bridal magic happen!
How much do one of your gowns cost?
Your investment depends entirely on your specific gown! Gowns from the collection range from $2200 – $3500 but can be higher or lower based on customizations. Your investment on a custom gown will average $2000 – $5000 depending on the fabrics chosen and complexity of the design. Having a custom gown made may be more expensive than buying something off the rack because there is a lot more time involved in developing the design and pattern. However, it is well worth it to get exactly what you want as well as not having to pay additional alteration costs. I understand every brides’ budget is different and will work with you to make your dream dress at your dream price.
Do you make replicas of designer bridal gowns?
As an artist, I am strongly against copying someone else’s original work. I will not copy or duplicate another designer’s gown out of respect for them. If you have already fallen in love with a gown, your best option would be the purchase that one! With that being said, you are more than welcome to bring in photos of gowns as inspiration for the silhouette or a specific detail. I can help combine aspects of many ideas you have to create your perfect one of a kind gown.
